FAQ: What needs to go through Graduate Council for approval?
Some examples include:
- Requests for Program Degree Modifications (i.e. admission requirements, course requirements, etc.)
- New Graduate Degree Proposals (Quick Guide for Creating a Graduate Degree Proposal)
- Proposals for new graduate concentrations or emphases
- New and modified Graduate Courses
- New or edited Graduate Degree titles
- Transfer, Consolidation, Disestablishment, and, Discontinuance of academic program, concentration, track, emphasis, and/or unit
What DOES NOT need Graduate Council approval?
- Change to admission deadline (although please note that it it is the School’s responsibility to notify Graduate Division and the Registrar for website and General Catalogue updates)
- Any language in the Graduate Degree Program Summary or General Catalogue that DOES NOT change the graduate degree requirements (i.e. grammatical changes, staff contacts, etc.)
